8th October 2007 - Georgetown to Flatcreek Station - guess who gets to open the gates for DB - must train that poodle to do something useful soon! The country is very strange here with large outcrops of white quartz and then mountains of granite. DB took the family detecting today - he found lots of shiny bits of rocks and some rusty steel bits. We also met John & Marcia who showed us their precious gems of ruby's and saphires they found - their trip was meant to be 3 weeks and is now 13 months! (mmm not sure I wanna stay here that long - they didn't even have air con or tele!)
