20 Nov 07 Darwin - we caught up with Marion (ex PD) and it was really wonderful to see her, she showed us some great parts of Darwin, The Darwin Sailing Club - with a spectacular sunset and lightning show overlooking the Timor Sea, Stokes Hill Wharf - "The Million Star Venue" with al fresco dining and South Sea Pearl jewellery shops. Marion made our visit to Darwin very special - thank you very much chook. We also wondered about the "Pelican Crossing" sign??? Does any one out there know why Darwin has this sign (ps there were no pelicans in sight). We also visited the Australian Pearling Exhibition and Margo promptly headed off to the Paspaley Building to try on the pearls - mmmmmmmm aren't they absolutely beautiful - said to be the world's finest pearls, they are still hand collected by divers from the wild pearl oysters, the depth and richness of the nacre in a blush pink baroque pearl set with pink argyle diamonds seemed to be the one that took my fancy - is Santa reading this? The Indo Pacific Marine was also fascinating, the Mitchell Street Precinct shopping was eclectic, and the Museum and Art Gallery overlook a very pretty Fannie Bay. All in all a lovely city, Darwin is definitely worth visiting - its sort of a big Port Douglas, sort of that is.........

Hi, Friday 28 July 2007: David and Margo are heading off with Matilda the Princess Poodle to do the "big lap" around Oz on board the fabulous bus we christened "NKA" (being either: "No Known Address" or, named in honour of margo's Dad, "Neville Kingsley Andrews"), please join us to follow our antics as we learn the ropes of travelling without a yacht!!! We are therefore now known as MDM on NKA xxx
