18 Nov 07 Darwin - Cullen Bay Marina mmm yep, there he goes off into the wild blue yonder on SV "Sugar" a 33' Mottle with Robbie (the Skipper) Mitchell and Jamie and 30 other yachts in race mode to do 10km triangles, so spinnakers and the whole kit and caboodle and yep they started racing with no wind, then the 3:00 afternoon tropical storm with 45 knots came in, a little damage done to headsail, but they all came back with very big grins on their faces (and very wet). Mmmm..... here is statue of a lady, dunno why or who, but she looks good. The Darwin-ites are lovely, we chatted with the Loch Master last nite, he rang his boss, and, viola, 2 hours after we arrive in Darwin DB is going racing! The streets are lined with frangipanni and the whole city has a beautiful perfume, everything is clean and green, and the streets are so wide, even Margo can drive to town (without getting lost I might add). AND Darwin is cooler than Katherine and Tennant Creek, especially with the afternoon storms - it's a great place, I love it.
