BROOME

Yay, it's party time and David booked us into an upstairs 2 bedroom suite at the Moonlight Bay Suites across the road from our bus and overlooking Roebuck Bay. Marion of course could have one room and we would have the other..........but it is a fab place to have a STAIRCASE TO THE MOON birthday party, and as this is the first official staircase for the season, and the very best place in town to view it, a room just had to be booked !!!!! My "Denkids" (who all live on the same block of land as we do in either the stilt house or one of the other caravans on the block) all chipped in and spent all day in the stilt house kitchen cooking and slaving over hot stoves, making up all sorts of "staircase" nibbles and foods and the stunning cake of course - kalua ganache - yum. They presented me with an A4 page of menu choices - all themed "staircase" of course and we could choose any or all of the menu.........I of course chose ALL !!!!! You can see the yummy lemon tart that Virginia baked for me on the table there, thank you Virginia I love lemon tart !!!! Poor Tilly did not seem to really enjoy the party, but as a good poodle, she was there and kept an eye on all proceedings - she is 7 years old now (ie 49) and therefore the same age as me !!!

Tristan and Treve - my twin Denboys, they are lovely lads and are great to live with........

Scotty and Chris.

Pete and Virginia on the lounge, and on top of the lounge is Justine (the mother of baby Zoe) and my beautiful pink fairy that Virginia and Pete gave me, she has wings and a porcelein face, legs and arms.......very very lovely.....thank you.

Anna and Devan and Tristan. They also followed the present instructions to a "T" and gave me a lovely rock (for my rock footpath to the herb garden), and a mangrove root, beautifully shaped so I can use it for something......not sure what.... (and Anna made the 'staircase' cake as well...........it's a work of art, really really yummy too, thank you Anna, it's georgeous.

John and John, David's workmates from Cygnet Bay came to the party as well, they are a lovely couple and are the builders for the company. They followed the "present instructions" to a "T" and made a great present that didn't cost a cent......The instructions were that the present should cost nothing and be wrapped up pretty in pink paper. They made me 31 wish sticks from bamboo, one for each day of the month, and each stick had a gold piece of paper with different words of wisdom hand written on each one and each stick tied up with a rubber band. They then made a cup to put them in and wrapped it up in pink plastic from the building site that had the PINK batts in it, and of course the pink plastic had 'PINK' written on it, they also picked a frangipanni leaf and cut "happy birthday" into the leaf like a stencil..........very very clever guys.........you both did well. Tracey and John also came to my party, they ex-PD people and gave me a really special wine glass - 21 painted on it - in pink of course, fab thank you. And, Denise sent me a very sexy little black nightie with cutsie pink ribbons on it, what a fab present Denise, you have seen me from hospital pyjamas for months to this little number.....thank you....
