27 July 08 Broome - we moved - we need to get re registered and unfortunately its an Inspectable Vehicle Registration, so we took NKA out of the Matso's staff stilt house in Anne Street, drove 1km up Anne Street and have put the bus into David's boss's Broome house. So now we are in the driveway at 68 Herbert Street Broome until we get a new windscreen - poor old NKA was winking at us with the cardboard windscreen !!!! The Department of Infrastructure and Planning rego man said we also had to take the seat belts out, yes OUT (as the bus didn't originally have seat belts you know), and a gas man had to write a fresh gas certificate for us. This all took a week with David having to have the week off work, and we finally re-registered the old girl and still in Qld rego. Whilst waiting waiting, we helped the builders who live on site here (John and John) to build a fire pit and while away the evenings with a yarn or three!!!!! The fellas here are lovely and make us feel very welcome, and it is great to be in a place where David can drive the bus in and out easily for all these rego repairs. He only had a palm's width on either side of the bus to get it out of the Matso's stilt house through a gap in the fence........ :)
