31 Aug 08 - Shinju Matsuri - The closing ceremony - and we went out our back gate, crossed the street into Bedford Park to have a champers or two and sit back to watch the party begin (and end) that is Graeme Campbell on the stage - the Broome Shire President expressing his thank you's with those wonderful red lights on stage depicting the staircase to the moon. Then the Piggy's (The Pigram Brothers) were up on stage singing their all time favourites, including of course, "Saltwater Cowboy" and "No Place like Home". We sat with Bev and Tack in the back rows with the "oldies" listening to the music and waiting for the fireworks. And boy were they worth it, they lasted 20 minutes and were spectacular with the Indian Ocean as a backdrop and the usual palm and boab trees silhouetted against the flouro fireworks. A great night...... A great Festival ..... wouldna missed it for quids luv..........
