28 Nov 08 Broome - And here is Treve - one of the twins of our 'we all live on the same block of land mates' and he entered the 2008 Great Apprentice Chefs of Broome - and he won !!!! We went to the very posh Cable Beach Club Resort 'Sam Male Room' (Broome's equivalent of a ballroom!!!) for the presentation and YAY for Treve - he won - the pic here is him with a local living legend - Bill - they tell me he IS Linneys - you know - the famous local pearl/jewellery company - the one with Ernie Dingo as their advertising patron .......... anyway Treve cooked a fabulous meal - it had to have mango in it, so he did local barr
a grilled with mango jus on top, and a pickled boab root and fresh rocket salad then the "pièce de résistance" - lightly grilled pearl meat - with a reduced mango sauce - yum - he called it the "Broome Bonanza" (and guess who brainstormed the menu with him he! he! he! he! he! - me!) we are all so proud - well done Treve - a combination of the great Kimberley local foodstuffs together with local Indigenous foods as well - what a combo !!!!!
