1 Jun 09 - The Windward at Cygnet Bay - margo's first viewing of the mighty Windward. This will be our home for 8 days or so whilst we and 3 other crew deliver her to Indonesia for a refit. DB's boss has asked us to crew it and I can't believe my good fortune to be included - awfully exciting. We were meant to leave on 22nd June, but now as at 24 June, there has been a 2-3 week postponement due to paperwork of some sort. The Windward is a 90 foot steel working boat for divers. She is good and sturdy but doesn't look very pretty, however, after a good make-over in Indo she will be ship-shape and pretty again. DB is the busy Engineer checking and double checking all her bits, and margo is menu planning and doing the linen count for the trip. We have met our skipper and he is lovely - and goes by the name of Flip. He says margo can officially be on watch duty and that I don't have to be stuck in the galley all the time - he says we will all take turns. Yahoo what a trip, what an opportunity. Yay - so exciting!!
