3 Jan 2008 Fitzroy Crossing - we have been staying here at the Lodge van park for 7 days now waiting for the new harmonic balance thingy. Margo has been busy watching the boab seeds dry out and watching the barometric pressure rise and fall. David has been busy too, getting stuff ready to put the new thingy in. The mechanic said it was here yesterday and we could have it first thing this morning. However.............apparently it was still at Broome and might be here tomorrow, that is, if the roads aren't cut and if the mail gets through!!!!! Margo has spent the last couple of days locating a community member to carve a boab seed. Bob the Boab man is in jail. Simon the other carver is in hospital, but, Malcolm tells me yesterday he can do it but hasn't got a knife........today he has a knife but no boab nuts. Tomorrow it might all come together.....we shall see.

2 Jan 08 - The mighty Fitzroy River - when in flood it is said to be one of the largest rivers in the world, it is 650km long, starts in the central Kimberley Plateau and enters the ocean at King Sound, during the wet it can flood over 30km wide at Fitzroy Crossing.

Check out Tilly's new haircut Margo did with the new Xmas clippers - she seems rather happy with her new hairdresser don't you think.....
