11 Jan 08 Cable Beach Broome. WHOOSHKA.....meet Malachi our dromedary (one hump that is!) he is the baby in this camel train at 8yrs old and the tallest in the bunch, the oldest being 35yrs. We did the sunset thing on Cable Beach and it was magnificent, white sand that goes forever, nudey people on the beach and 12 camels. Alison Bird is a legend, the only true camel lady of Broome, mustering her own wild camels in the desert and training them, it is easy to tell she really loves them, and she has been working with camels for 20 years. they offered DB another job, this time as a Camel Saddler!!!!! Wo, that would be good for his resumè. Camel riding was a lot of fun, definitely put that one on your list luvs.

10 Jan 08 Broome (below) check out the jet flying smack over the township of Broome, the airport is just there. Amazing. We popped into Matso's Broome Brewery for a taste test of the famous award winning full mash hand crafted beers. Of course, David's favourite flavour was the "Monsoonal Blonde" wheat beer.

08 Jan 08 Broome! Population 15,000 to 50,000 in the season, 18 degrees south of the Equator. Yay! We made it! The most northerly West Australian town and frontier land. Ánd it is Christmas time again on NKA in WA, thank you so much to all of you who sent cards, emails, text messages, phone calls and presents, it was so lovely to receive each and every one of them, and Margo went through the all warm and fuzzy thing (no not hot flushes) knowing that each of you is not too far away. Thank you. xxxxxxx And a big thankyou to our own private postie Linnea who always gets the mail through - you're a legend luv, ta!!!!! There is however no room at the inn for Margo David and poodle in Broome, well, actually, caravan parks here will NOT have any animals in their parks. Consequently, we now have a job at the Police Citizens Youth Club of WA as Caretakers of their property. The front gate opens onto the "millionaire row" of Broome, with fantastic beaches and spectacular houses, quite an address I would say.....hee hee! Half a dozen or so kids come here to use the facilities, there is: The gymnasium stadium, a weights room, showers and toilets, a huge footy field, basketball and tennis courts, billiard tables, electronic games room and a BMX track. It's fabulous, as you can see once again we have the place to ourselves. Our rent and electricity is free, DB has to unlock the gate at 6:00 am and lockup at 8:pm. He emptied the bins once, and Margo has to slosh around the toilets for a bit (except no-one uses them), and voila our day work is done.

08 Jan 08 Derby to Broome. But firstly, check out today's "find" for DB. Tilda and Margo did the early morning walking thing and dutifully brought home David's daily present. TODAY it is a satellite dish, and as we can't pick up tv stations out here and people with satellite dishes can, it seemed quite obvious to Margo that this dish would solve all our problems. Alas no, the dish had to be returned from whence it came. Rats! Off we set, heading west on the Great Northern Highway, Broome Broome here we come.....................................
