16 Feb 08 - Broome - The headstone here was commissioned by Lord McAlpine back in the 1960's - he was quite a legend here and very generous in helping to set up playgrounds etc in Broome - he had 100 or so made by the local aboriginals for him to put in his gardens. Kim and Martin (our landlords) had a shed full of them and sold them off - we were able to buy one too - should look nice stored under our bed when we hit the road - don't you think!!!! And it won't take up too much room, and it doesn't weigh much?????? Here too is my boab nut from Fitzroy Crossing beautifully carved for me by Malcolm and Connie and now I have a terrifically tacky shell mat to put it on - I love it - looks fab huh!!!!
