18 Feb 2008 - Broome Prison - the brochures don't tell you about the jail (holding maximum security prisoners) in one of the main drags of Broome, but it's there, and only 2 blocks from our place. Don't be seen wearing dark green King G work clothes on a Thursday around town and doing the park gardening or you might be picked up mistakenly as an escapee and carted away in the divvy van to prison!!!!! On our morning walks, Tilly and I can hear the guards on the microphone: "Cell Block C muster up for roll call!" It's quite an education living here in the Kimberley - the sparsest populated region in the world - so they say - and it covers more than 421,000 km!!!
