26 Apr 2008 - Cape Leveque - we took a drive just a few minutes south of David's Pearl Farm for a light lunch in the posh restaurant at Cape Leveque and to check out this icon of WA. It really is very spectacular, and they have three types of accomodation here - the beach shack you can see below on the right, a real building with roof, doors, windows, etc., and the third variety is four tree trunk poles with palm fronds on top for the roof. Very in tune with nature luv!!! The lovely old light house still stands proud and is a testament to the craftsmanship of a bygone era. There was also a little playtime for the poodle and getting herself rather pindanny ?????? Today's activities also included a little digging of sand to help the suzuki out of a hole ????? and, whilst beachcombing, we found a turtle breast plate by some rocks. It was in perfect condition, apparently there is to be a very large indigenous funeral tomorrow, so a lot of turtle, dugong and other seafood has been caught for the big feast tomorrow.
