27 Apr 2008 - Cygnet Bay - below below you can see the cyclone bunker made of sandbags and it seems so strong with big solid doors at either end, seems like a safe place to be if a big blow ever comes. Hope that is never the case though. Below right you can see the cleaning machine for the "panels", above that the girls are cleaning the "envelopes" by bashing the "spat" (baby pearl shell) with soft hammers, on the right the 'long lines' being made and in the middle is the work bench with the paint and tools and stuff with George overseeing the whole project. All these activities were on the schedule because it was blowing a gale and the kids who would normally be out on the water chipping the pearl shell stayed onshore to do 'farm' maintenance jobs.
