10 Sep 08 - Strickland Bay - yay - db gets to go to Strickland Bay (NE of Cygnet Bay across the King Sound) to the part of the pearl farm strictly for the spat (ie the baby baby pearl shell) and as he is studying for his M.E.D.2 (ummm you nautical sort know what that stands for I hope) he gets to do M.E.D.2 stuff...........you understood that huh! Anyway, they motor over to Strickland Bay towing a "cleaning boat", lift the miniature pearl shell in nets up to the boat, chip the shell to clean it of seaweed and other growth, put the shell back in the net, lower them down to the ocean floor and the nets swing with the currents hanging off the longlines...............did you get all that? Anyway, I believe he had a ball, they sleep on deck overnight and head back to Cyggy Bay in time for dinner in the mess.
