27 July 2009 - Padang to Kuala Lumpur to Phuket to Karon Beach - here we are in Padang at the illustrious offices of Indies Trader - and we finally meet Dorian and Eddie, the two men who orchesrated the whole trip, our ocean crossing, our immigration and visas for entry, our transport and accomodation in Padang and finally the chauffered and guided trip to the passports office and then onto the airport..............so after waiting and waiting for days to get out of Indonesia, and our visa date running out, we finally left Indonesia with Jason and flew to Kuala Lumpur,then KL to Phuket. During the several airport delays we met some more lovely people - Brian and Duanne - and in the wee hours of the morning, after flying through the night, we three accepted a lift with Brian & Duean - 2 total strangers - to drive to someplace called Karon Beach, to stay in a hotel that belonged to a mate of our new friends .......... all in all, we were very lucky ......... someone was watching over us .............. and low and behold, we were delivered to a perfectly lovely hotel room, we weren't kidnapped, drugged or jailed............ and so begins the next chapter of our adventure - Phuket! With a huge thank you to Brian and Duean and their lovely hospitality........
