21 Oct 2010 Cyggy Bay - This was an amazing moment for me at Cyggy Bay. James met with 5 indigenous lads from ICEA (...............) and their TAFE teacher. They want to start a new tourism venture at the One Arm Point Hatchery. James was a wonder to watch, in the 3 years we have known him, this was watching him at his very best, so natural and enthusiastic with those lads, cutting open some big old Pinctada Maxima shell for them and explaining every little bit of the procedure in a mixture of vernaculars, the lads watched and listened in awe. Then of course, they ate the pearl meat - raw that is! (it's sort of a delicate sweet meat with a fine texture). After that I took the lads on a standard tour of the farm and they asked me to be their mentor after that, of course, I agreed, and with great pride too I might add. All in all a really cool moment in time.
